Precare & Aftercare

Here’s where your homework begins! What you do before and after your appointment is critical for ensuring the best results. Please follow these steps to lay a strong foundation for your brow tattoo. Note that these restrictions will apply before your first session, second session, and all touch-ups.

Precare Instructions

  1. 1 week prior to your procedure, DO NOT : Consume any blood thinners such as caffeine, alcohol, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, evening Primrose unless medically necessary - do not consume after the procedure either. It can slow down the healing process. Tylenol is okay.

  2. Do not use Retin A skincare products close to the enhancement area 1 month prior to and after your procedure.

  3. Do not use AHA skincare products close to the enhancement area 2 weeks prior to and after your procedure.

  4. Waxing treatments should be performed no less than 3 days prior to your enhancement.

  5. IPL Laser hair removal should be performed no less than 2 weeks prior to your enhancement.

  6. No anti-aging treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser, facials 2 weeks before your appointment.

  7. No facial injections 1 month prior to procedure.

  8. No waxing, tanning or tinting the eyebrow area 3 days before your appointment.

  9. On the day of your appointment avoid caffeine/exercise. It would be best to wash your hair prior to your brow appointment since you want to avoid direct contact with water on your brows for the first week.

Aftercare Instructions

Day of (After Procedure):

You will expect some redness and swelling which will subside after a few hours.

  • After the procedure gently blot the area with a clean paper towel to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this until the oozing stops.

Hydrate (Day 2-14):

  • Gently wash brows with an unscented antibacterial soap using a damp q-tip.

  • Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of ointment A&D ointment from your aftercare kit on each brow.

  • Do not over apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing.

  • If you have dry to normal skin apply ointment twice a day.

  • If you have combination skin apply ointment once a day.

  • If you have oily skin do not apply any ointment.

Reminder:

  • After your appointment starting between day 3-14 will experience shedding and itchiness. Your brows will look flaky, this is completely normal for your brows to heal. During this DO NOT pick or scratch your brows, also make sure you avoid sleeping on your face. Doing these things can alter the healing process.

  • Your brows may also appear darker. This is due to the pigment oxidizing in your skin.

  • Redness and swelling is normal and can last up to 3 days.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks

  • Avoids facials, chemical treatments and exfoliators up to 4 weeks.

  • Avoid heavy exercising till scabs are off.

  • Avoid steamy showers and saunas for 14 days.

  • Avoid any facial products, makeup, moisturizer etc. on the brow area for 14 days.
